Kim Jong Un, Supreme Leader of North Korea, reportedly received a cardiovascular 

system procedure on April 12, and now his current health is unknown.

According to NBC News, speculation about Kim’s health escalated after he failed to attend his grandfather’s birthday celebrations on April 15

Daily NK, an online newspaper based in South Korea that focuses on North Korea, reports that Kim reportedly received a cardiovascular system procedure on April 12.

CNN reported that Kim received the cardiovascular system procedure because of “excessive smoking, obesity, and overwork,” and is receiving treatment in a villa in Hyangsan County following his procedure.

According to Bloomberg, One of the U.S. officials said that the White House was told that Kim took a turn for the worse after the procedure.

The New York Post reported that South Korea’s Unification Ministry, which handles inter-Korean affairs, said it couldn’t confirm the reports of his current health.

According to the Jerusalem post South Korea has not detected any unusual activity in North Korea.
